There is a student teacher in third grade starting on Wedn., January 18. Jason Zimmerman is in his final year at Lancaster Bible College. I'm excited to have him join us for about 8 weeks.
MATH: We started a new unit on Tuesday, Jan. 17: Geometry
Homework due on:
Monday, Feb. 6 - HL 6.12
There will be a math test on Thursday, Feb. 9. Make sure your child knows the math vocabulary: right angle, line symmetry, edges/sides, vertex/vertices, ray, line segment, line, polygon, square, triangle, and hexagon. They also need to know a pyramid and a prism.
Science: We are starting the Structures of Life science unit on Thursday, February 9. This unit includes fruits, seeds, and fiddler crabs.
Social Studies: We just concluded a unit on various communities in the United States and Timbuktu, Mali. We took the test last week. Watch for it to come home the beginning of this week.
Bible: Continued study of Elijah and Elisha. New memory verses will be posted soon.
Spelling: New words will be given on Feb. 6, with the spelling word find due on Thursday, and the test on Friday.

Health: We are studying health and nutrition during health class (only held once a week). We go over only the basics in third grade.
