Kindergarten is enjoying books related to Christmas!
1st grade - We are practicing identifying fiction and non-fiction.
2nd grade - We are learning about the Caldecott medal that is given for best American picture book each year. We are reading samples and analyzing the type of illustrations in the winning books.
3rd grade - We are learning about traditional literature from a variety of countries. We are reading folk tales, legends, tall tales, trickster tales, and fairy tales.
4th grade - How does math relate to the library? We are learning about how the Dewey Decimal system works. We enjoyed using the shelf order game online. http://users.ece.utexas.edu/~valmstrum/s2s/utopia/library4/src/library4.html
5th grade - I am helping fifth graders with their American hero projects.
6th grade study skills - We have recently finished working on note-taking skills, and we'll be moving on to test-taking skills.
Middle School classes will be given 10-15 minutes each library time for silent sustained reading. They need to come prepared to read, either with a book they are already reading or by choosing a book from the library to read.
