Fourth Grade Bible Assembly Fourth grade is special to students at HMS because students know that this is their year to receive a Bible. The Bibles are purchased through the Harriet Douple Endowment, in memory of a special 4th grade teacher, and presented to the students at this age level because we believe students can beginning using the Bible as a personal tool for studying the Word, doing research on Bible topics, and learning about Bible reference tools included in the Bibles purchased. The 4th grade teacher has the students share on a scripture-related theme in an assembly, and afterward the administrator and a board member present the Bibles. Parents also share in this special day. |

Chapel Time Every two weeks on Thursday morning, middle school students gather for chapel time. A student worship team leads the group in several worship songs followed by input from a variety of speakers. Teachers, visiting pastors, parents, missionaries, social agencies and alumnus provide students with spiritual guidance as they share with the students. On the off week from chapel, students are divided into teacher lead mentoring groups that separate girls and guys. Here students and teachers share on a more intimate level and guide students in personal growth emotionally and spiritually. |
