Keith Brubacher, Board Chair

Keith Brubacher and his wife, Ronda, are parents to HMS alumni Savanna and Sierra and to Clark, fifth grade.  They are members of Bowmansville Mennonite Church. Keith is the president of Brubacher Excavating Inc.  Keith enjoys woodworking, landscaping and "bringing new life to old things."



Sherry Martin, Vice-Chairman

Sherry Martin along with her husband Kelly have been parents at HMS since 2005. She is also an HMS alumna, having graduated from 8th grade in 1990. Sherry and Kelly have four children: Maggie (6th grade) & Micah (4rd grade) attend HMS, Adin & Silas attend Garden Spot High School. Sherry attends Goodville Mennonite Church.

Sherry is a registered nurse, working at Lancaster General Hospital on the cardiac floor for the past 18 years. She has experience in the hospital’s shared governance and has chaired several committees relating to patient safety and quality care. She graduated from Lancaster General School of Nursing in 1998 and Millersville University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and she will complete her Master’s in Nursing Education in 2017. She enjoys DIY projects, gardening, cooking, hiking & biking. 



DJ Weaver, Treasurer

DJ Weaver and his wife, Emily, attend Lancaster Evangelical Free Church in Lititz. They lead their Adult Bible Fellowship Sunday School Class.  DJ is an HMS alum of the class of 2003 and graduated from Messiah in 2010 with a Business Administration degree. DJ currently works at Bomberger's Store in Lititz where he is the Lawn & Garden Department manager. DJ & Emily have one daughter.  

He enjoys playing church softball, doing anything outside and following his favorite Philadelphia sports teams.  He brings a unique perspective to the board as a more recent alum of HMS. He serves on the Finance Committee for the board and enjoys trying to solve problems and helping give direction to move the school forward and prepare the next generation of learners.



Melissa Hurst, Secretary

Melissa Hurst and her husband, Nevin, live in East Earl with their four children. Emma and Alarie are HMS alumni, currently at Lancaster Mennonite High School, Madalyn is in eighth grade and Paul is in sixth grade. The Hursts attend Weaverland Mennonite Church. Melissa has a BS in Elementary Education from Messiah College, an MA in Education from EMU and a Reading Specialist Certification. She taught 6th grade at Kraybill Mennonite School. Melissa is a homemaker, a Youngevity Distributor and is employed part time at Garden Spot Village as an Activities Aide in the memory support unit. She brings her experience in education to the board and serves on the Advancement Committee.

Earl Weaver

Terry Esbenshade 

Terry and his wife Janelle Esbenshade and his family reside in Mohnton, and are patrons of Hinkletown Mennonite School. Their son, Davin, is in eighth grade. They attend Petra Church where Terry is an drummer on the worship team. He graduated with an Associate's degree in business from Penn State and further studied finance at Millersville University. Terry is a managing partner of Esbenshade Greenhouses, Inc. where is oversees the retail and business operations. He is also president of three other business--Revitalized-Real Estate LLC, Jireh Properties LLC, and Triple H Foundation. 

Terry is currently serving on BB&T advisory board, and previously served with Susquehanna Bank, DOVE Westgate Admin board, Revelations of Freedom Ministries, Barbara Hauf Cancer Foundation, and "A Safer Tomorrow" Golf tournament. At HMS he serves on the Finance Committee of the board.

Kevin Kuhn

Kevin Kuhn and his wife, Megen, are parents to Tahlia and Silas, and have been HMS patrons since 2013. They have attended Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Lititz since 2003, where they help provide music for worship.

Kevin & Megen attended Messiah College and studied psychology and nursing respectively. Kevin went on to earn his master's degree in psychology and now works as a School Psychologist and Behavior Analyst for IU13's intensive center-based Autism Support and Emotional Support program. Prior to working for IU13, Kevin was a School Psychologist at Eastern Lancaster County School District for 6 years. Kevin enjoys outdoors activities (rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, etc.), creating things out of recycled pallet wood, and playing musical instruments.
