Health

This program is designed to enable our students to acquire knowledge and skills that promote good health and that help them maintain the body God has given them for quality living. Along with health issues, this instruction includes, at all levels, self-awareness and coping skills that will build a foundation for resisting drug and substance abuse.

Primary - Health instruction at the primary level is integrated into the science curriculum covering the areas of growth and development, dental care, food and nutrition, cleanliness, safety and social interactions.

Upper Elementary - Grades three through five study nutrition, good health habits and are introduced to the primary body systems.

Middle School - In sixth grade, students study the body systems in depth, learn more about social and mental health, and the importance of diet and exercise in maintaining healthy bodies. Seventh and eighth grade students study drug and medicine use and abuse and learn about the reproductive system and related sex education issues.
