School Closings & Delays

If for any reason students need to be dismissed early, every effort will be made to contact parents to inform them of the dismissal time. If school is delayed, cancelled, or dismissed early due to inclement weather or unexpected events, announcements will be made on the following:           

•    HMS web site home page

•    WDAC-FM            94.5 FM       www.wdac.com under resources tab or directly to www.wdac.com/resources/school-closings-and-delays/
•    WJTL-FM             90.3 FM       www.wjtl.com or directly to WJTL Operation Snow Crew
•    WGAL-TV            Channel 8     www.wgal.com or directly to weather closings
                                NOTE: WGAL has discontinued their program allowing individuals to subscribe and receive customized alerts by email/mobile                                              device. They will continue to post weather closings on their website and make them available via the WGAL mobile app. 

 

HMS Parent Alert 

HMS Parents will receive alerts via the HMS Parent Alert system, according to the contact preferences provided by each family to the HMS office.  In general, Parent Alerts will not go out from 9 pm-6 am. However weather-related announcements may be publicized in local news outlets (listed above) and online during that time.  

Parents may change their Parent Alert preferences at any time by contacting the HMS office.
